Description of Alinia

The drug Alinia is generally used for the treatment of diarrhea caused by certain protozoa called Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium parvum, medical conditions that are also referred to as travelers’ diarrhea. One can buy Alinia for both children and adults. Alinia is primarily an antiprotozoal agent. The generic name of the drug is nitazoxanide.

The inactive ingredients of Alinia are xanthan gum, sodium benzoate, carboxymethyl cellulose sodium, sodium citrate dihydrate and sugar syrup. It is best to consult a doctor for the full list of inactive components.
