Description of Arcoxia

Etoricoxib is the generic name for Arcoxia and it is available in the form of tablets. It contain inactive ingredients like calcium hydrogen phosphate (anhydrous), lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, croscarmellose sodium, carnauba wax, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, and glycerol triacetate. The Arcoxia 30 mg, 60 mg and 120 mg tablets also contain indigo carmine lake and yellow ferric oxide. You can buy Arcoxia only with a doctor’s prescription.

Indications & Dosage of Arcoxia

Arcoxia is prescribed for treatment of both acute and chronic symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It is also administered for management of ankylosing spondylitis, to provide relief from chronic musculoskeletal pain and acute pain, and for treatment of acute gouty arthritis.

The recommended dosage for adults suffering from osteoarthritis is Arcoxia 30 mg once a day. Depending on the condition of the patient, the dosage can be increased to Arcoxia 60 mg once daily. The recommended dosage for patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis is Arcoxia 90 mg once daily. For patients suffering from ankylosing spondylitis, the recommended dosage is Arcoxia 90 mg once daily and the dosage for those who need relief from acute pain and gout attacks is Arcoxia 120 mg once daily. Patients suffering from chronic musculoskeletal pain are recommended Arcoxia 60 mg once daily. Tablets need to be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

Side Effects & Interactions of Arcoxia

Administration of Arcoxia can lead to mild or moderate side effects with clearly visible symptoms. Some of the side effects caused by Arcoxia include:
