Description of Baraclude Oral Solution

Baraclude Oral Solution is used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. The generic name of this drug is entecavir.

Baraclude Oral Solution must be administered on an empty stomach two hours after meals and two hours before next meal. You should buy Baraclude Oral Solution only as per the prescription of the doctor.

Indications & Dosage of Baraclude Oral Solution

Baraclude Oral Solution is an antiviral drug used to treat hepatitis B. It reduces the amount of hepatitis B virus in the blood by preventing virus cells from multiplying. It also prevents the hepatitis B virus from infecting the new liver cells.

The dosage of the drug depends on the renal function of the patient. The normal dose of Baraclude Oral Solution for treating chronic hepatitis B in patients over the age of 16 years is 0.5 mg per day. The recommended dosage of the drug for chronic hepatitis B virus infection with decompensated liver disease in adults is 1 mg per day. You must use a measuring spoon rather than a normal tablespoon to measure the dose. While doing so, the spoon must be held vertically. Fill the spoon to the mark corresponding to the prescribed dosage.

Baraclude Oral Solution is an orange flavored, colorless, ready-to-use solution. The drug must be taken only once a day. If you miss a dose, try taking it as soon as possible when you remember, unless it is time for the next dose. No serious adverse effects have been reported in case of an overdose of Baraclude Oral Solution. You must visit your doctor on a regular basis and discuss your symptoms with him/her to prevent complications.

Baraclude Oral Solution must be stored outside the carton, away from direct sunlight at 25 degrees Celsius. Once opened, the drug can be used up to the expiry date. The bottle should be disposed after use.
