Description of Bystolic

Bystolic is a prescription medication available for oral administration in the form of tablets. The medication belongs to the group of drugs called beta blockers. Nebivolol is the generic name for this medication. You may need to buy Bystolic in one of the available strengths that include Bystolic 2.5 mg, Bystolic 5 mg, Bystolic 10 mg and Bystolic 20 mg.

Indications & Dosage of Bystolic

Bystolic is indicated for the management of hypertension or high blood pressure. It works by relaxing the heart to pump the blood slowly and efficiently. This further lowers down the blood pressure. The process also lowers down the workload on heart.

An initial dose of 5 mg once a day is usually prescribed for the adult patients. Doctor may adjust the dose after 2 weeks if the blood pressure doesn’t go normal. The maximum dosage should not exceed 40 mg per day.

Patients with moderate hepatic impairment or severe renal impairment are prescribed the daily dose of 2.5 mg only. Increase in dosage should be strictly done only on the doctor’s instructions.
