Description of Danocrine

Danocrine is an oral medication with the generic name Danazol. It belongs to a group of drugs known as endocrine-metabolic agents. The drug is a man-made form of steroid derived from Ethisterone. Danocrine is available in the form of a capsule. It is available in three strengths, Danocrine 50mg, 100mg and 200mg. The medication is a prescription medication, which means you need to consult your doctor before you buy Danocrine online.

Indications & Dosage of Danocrine

Danocrine is indicated in the treatment of hereditary angioedema, a medical condition which causes swelling of the sexual organs, bowels, windpipe, throat, face, legs, or arms. It is also used to treat fibrocystic breast disease and infertility/pain caused by endometriosis.

Danazol, the main active ingredient in Danocrine, is an androgen. In the case of fibrocystic breast disease, it works by reducing the production of hormones produced by ovaries. For the treatment of other diseases, it works by reducing the levels of specific hormones, which helps treat the symptoms and reduce the severity of the disease.

Your doctor will give you specific instructions regarding the dosage. The recommended daily dose of Danocrine in treatment of Endometriosis is 200-800mg in two or four divided doses. The usual recommended dose of Danocrine for the treatment of fibrocystic breast disease is 200mg daily. A doctor generally recommends the smallest effective dose in the treatment of fibrocystic breast disease.

Side Effects & Interactions of Danocrine

Like all other medicines, Danocrine may also cause mild to severe side effects in some patients. However, not all people who use this medication experience side effects. As a matter of fact, many people who use Danocrine do not complain about any side effects.

The less severe side effects caused by the medication include: voice changes (change in pitch, hoarseness), weight gain, sweating, acne, abnormal growth of body hair (in women), flushing, decreased breast size, vaginal irritation or dryness. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects become bothersome.

Some people may also experience severe side effects such as swelling of the feet/ankles/hand, mental/mood changes such as mood swings or nervousness, menstrual changes such as missed periods or spotting. Stop using the medication and consult your doctor if you experience severe side effect after taking a dose of Danocrine.

In rare cases, Danocrine may cause allergic reactions in some people. Seek medical attention immediately if you notice or experience severe dizziness, swelling/itching (especially of the tongue/face/throat), trouble breathing, or skin rash.

Danocrine may potentially interact with other drugs you are using and cause side effects. It may interact with medicines such as Carbamazepine, Tacrolimus, Cyclosporine, some cholesterol medications, or blood thinners such as Warfarin.

Before you buy Danocrine, inform the doctor about every drug you are using, which includes prescription drugs, over the counter medications and herbal supplements.

Warnings & Precautions of Danocrine

You should not use Danocrine if you are hypersensitive to any ingredient in it. It may not be the right drug for people with certain medical problems such as severe kidney, liver or heart disease, abnormal vaginal bleeding, or porphyria.

Pregnant women and nursing mothers should not buy Danocrine. Women of a childbearing age should use a barrier form of birth control, as hormonal birth control measures such as pills, implants, injection or other measures may not be effective to prevent pregnancy during treatment.
