Description of Dynacirc
Dynacirc is a calcium channel blocker (CCE). The generic name of this drug is Isradipine. It is administered orally. You can buy Dynacirc in the form of oral capsules which come in two strengths- Dynacirc 2.5 mg and 5 mg.
The nonmedical ingredients used in Dynacirc are: gelatin, starch, FD&C Yellow No. 6 Aluminum Lake, D&C Red No. 7 Calcium Lake, lactose, titanium dioxide, FD&C Red No. 40 (present only in 5 mg capsules), starch, and certain other ingredients.
Indications & Dosage of Dynacirc
Dynacirc is indicated for the treatment of hypertension or high blood pressure. Your doctor may ask you to take this drug in combination with certain other medications such as thiazide diuretics for the management of hypertension. Calcium channel blockers, including Isradipine, improve blood circulation by dilating the blood vessels and heart muscles.
The dosage of Dynacirc varies from patient to patient. The usual starting dosage in adults is Dynacirc 2.5 mg two times a day. The maximum effect of this drug, in most cases, is seen in 2-4 weeks time. If your blood pressure is not reduced satisfactorily after 4 weeks, your doctor may increase your dosage. The maximum dosage is 20 mg per day.
Elderly patients or patients with renal or hepatic functional impairment are usually administered a lower maintenance dose.
