Description of Ergamisol
Ergamisol is an antineoplastic medication. The generic name of this drug is Levamisole. It is meant only for oral administration. You can buy Ergamisol online in the form of oral tablets, which come in Ergamisol 50 mg strength.
Indications & Dosage of Ergamisol
Ergamisol is used along with 5-fluorouracil for treating colon cancer. This drug works by slowing the spread of cancer cells within a patient’s body.
The recommended starting dosage of Ergamisol is three 50 mg tablets, administered in 3 divided doses (one tablet in each dose), for the first 3 days (Day 1, 2, and 3) of the 1st week of the treatment, followed by a dosage of three 50 mg tablets administered in 3 divided doses (one tablet in each dose), for the first 3 days(Day 1, 2, and 3) of the 3rd week of the treatment.
The maintenance dosage is three Ergamisol 50 mg oral tablets, administered in 3 divided doses (one tablet in each dose), for the first 3 days (Day 1, 2, and 3) of every alternate week.
Ergamisol is used along with 5-fluorouracil as an adjuvant treatment. Ensure that you take all the prescribed medications as directed by your healthcare provider.
Side Effects & Interactions of Ergamisol

You should seek immediate medical help if you experience any of the following serious side effects during treatment:
- Signs of blood problems or reduced bone marrow function – fever, extreme fatigue, chills, or other signs of an infection
- Allergic reaction – wheezing, closing of the throat, hives, skin rashes, facial flushing, trouble breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
- Problems with the nervous system – speech disturbances, extreme fatigue, tingling or numbness, muscle weakness, memory loss, loss of consciousness, confusion
Apart from these, Ergamisol may also bring about certain mild side effects. Less severe side effects associated with this drug may include, but are not restricted, to the following:
- Diarrhea
- Sores on the lips or inside the mouth
- Loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea
- Mild rashes or itching
Certain drugs may affect the way Ergamisol works or cause severe side effects if taken along with Ergamisol. If you are taking any other drugs, including non-prescription and herbal medicines, tell your doctor about it. Also, while you are using Ergamisol, consult your healthcare provider before taking any new medication.
