Description of Keppra Oral Solution

Keppra Oral Solution is used to the treat onset of seizures in adults and children above the age of four. It is an anti-epileptic drug. The generic name of the medicine is Levetiracetam.

Keppra Oral Solution inhibits the spread of seizure activity in the brain. The drug is used to treat tonic-clonic seizures in patients older than 12 years and myoclonic seizures in pediatric patients over 12 years of age.

The recommended dosage of Keppra Oral Solution in adults is 3000mg. The treatment starts with 1000 mg daily given two times a day (500 mg each dose). The dosage is then increased to 2000 mg and gradually to 3000 mg. The recommended dosage for children is 60 mg/kg. Don’t take the drug in excessive amounts or for a longer period than prescribed by the doctor. You may feel better after taking Keppra Oral Solution for a few days. Don’t stop the medication without consulting the doctor. If you do so, there are high chances of experiencing seizures. Don’t take an overdose of Keppra Oral Solution. The overdose symptoms include agitation, aggression drowsiness, weakness, shallow breathing and fainting. Seek immediate medical attention in case of an overdose.
