Description of Nilandron

The generic name of the drug is Nilutamide. It belongs to a family of medicines known as antiandrogens. Nilandron is available in the form of an oral tablet. Each Nilandron tablet contains 150mg Nilutamide. The drug is a prescription medication which means you should not buy Nilandron online unless it is recommended in the treatment by your doctor.

Indications & Dosage of Nilandron

Nilandron is used after surgery in treatment of prostate cancer in men. The drug may be used along with other medicines. The drug works by blocking the effect of Testosterone which facilitates the growth of prostate cancer.

Your doctor will give specific instructions regarding the dosage. The recommended dosage of Nilandron after surgery is 300mg, once daily for 30 days. Thereafter, the dosage of Nilandron is reduced to 150mg, once daily.

You can take the medication with or without food. Take the tablet on same time every day as it helps keep even levels of medication in the blood.

Side Effects & Interactions of Nilandron

Every medicine has side effects. Nilandron may cause mild to severe side effects in some people. It is not necessary that every person taking the medication will experience some side effect. Many people using Nilandron do not complain about any side effects.

Less serious side effects associated with Nilandron: dizziness, decreased libido, skin rash, constipation, impotence, poor visual adaptation to darkness, hot flashes, vomiting, loss of appetite, skin rashes, changes in vision, or nausea.
