General Information On Yocon

Yocon is known by the generic name Yohimbine and is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men caused due to diabetes, functional problems in the blood vessels, and psychological problems. It is also used to dilate the pupils. Medical practitioners have found a wide variety of uses of this drug depending on the medical condition of a patient.

Yohimbine is a 3 alpha – 15 alpha -20 beta- 17 alpha –hydroxy Yohimbine – 16 – alpha – carboxylic acid methyl ester. This kind of alkaloid is said to be found in Rubaceae and similar trees. Yohimbine belongs to the drug class of indolalkylamine alkaloids and it has the same chemical actions as that of reserpine. Yocon compressed tablet contains 5.4mg Yohimbine Hydrochloride.

As an alpha blocker, Yocon functions by increasing the amount of a few specific chemicals in the patient’s body. These dilate the pupils and blood vessels, thus increasing the flow of blood to the penis and treating erectile dysfunction.

Side effects of Yocon

Allergic reactions such as rashes, itching, tightness in the chest, or difficulty breathing/heavy breathing are the common side effects of Yocon, but you should consult your doctor if any of these worsen or persist. Seek immediate medical help in case you experience hallucinations, painful or reduced urination, panic attacks, vomiting, tremors or agitation.

Yocon can also lead to faster or irregular heartbeat due to an increase in blood flow through the blood vessels.
