How to use Novofine
Novofine is available in different shapes and dimensions. It would be best if you talk to our doctor or pharmacist and confirm the dimensions of needle required before you buy it. Novofine needles are suitable for all patients, regardless of weight or age. The 6mm Novofine needles can be used for injecting insulin at 90 degrees on a lifted skin fold. This can be used in both normal weighted and obese adults. The 8mm Novofine needles can be used by patients who have previously used 8mm needles and for whom there is no expected benefit from injecting insulin with shorter needles.
If you are using Novofine for the first time to inject yourself, your doctor would instruct you on how to use the drug. In most cases, however, insulin must be targeted into the subcutaneous layer the best results. The thickness of human skin usually lies in the range of 1mm to 4mm, so the ideal injection angle for a 6mm needle would be 45 degrees for children and 90 degrees for adults. If insulin is injected into the abdomen, a skin fold is not recommended. For other injection sites, a lifted skin fold would be recommended.
You must remember that Novofine needles are sterile and each needle can only be used once. Repeated use of the same Novofine needle is not recommended as it may lead to needle breakage and, eventually, lipohypertrophy.
Side Effects of Novofine
Novofine needles are not expected to cause any side effects. In fact, they are designed to reduce the pain caused by other needles while injecting insulin. Novofine needles are designed to be thinner, which improves insulin flow and reduces the time and effort required for each administration. However, if you do notice any side effects like pain, inflammation or swelling at the injection site after using Novofine needles, you must contact your doctor.
Warnings & Precautions of Novofine
Before you buy Novofine, you must consult your doctor and ensure that you buy the right size of needles for your insulin pen. You must also ensure that you get a proper shot when using a Novofine needle.
