Description of Factive

Gemifloxacin or gemifloxacin mesylate is the generic name for Factive. Factive is for oral administration and is available in the form of tablets with dosage strength of 320 mg. The primary inactive ingredients in Factive include hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, crospovidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, povidone, polyethylene glycol, and titanium dioxide. Indications & Dosage of Factive

Factive is prescribed by doctors to treat infections caused by a specific type of bacteria. It is considered to be a fluoroquinolone antibiotic and it kills the infection causing bacteria. For treatment of community-acquired pneumonia, the recommended dose is 1 tablet of Factive 320mg once a day for a period of 5 days if the condition is mild and if the condition is serious then the course should be continued for 7 days.
