Description of Bentyl

The generic name of Bentyl is dicyclomine hydrochloride. It is an antispasmodic and anticholingeric drug. You can buy Bentyl online in the following forms and strengths :

The active ingredient in Bentyl is dicyclomine hydrochloride.

Inactive ingredients in the 10 mg capsule are: calcium sulphate, titanium dioxide, magnesium state, gelatin, lactose, and corn starch.

Inactive ingredients in the 20 mg tablet are: acacia, sucrose, and dibasic calcium phosphate.

Inactive ingredients in the syrup are: citric acid, propylene, glycol, water, and saccharin sodium.

Indications & Dosage of Bentyl

Bentyl treats irritable bowel syndrome. It blocks the action of some chemicals in the body, thereby relieving muscles in the intestines and stomach.

The recommended dosage in adults is 20 mg 4 times a day. It may be increased to 40 mg a day if no side effects are observed. Bentyl should be discontinued if no positive results are felt after 2 weeks.

Bentyl injection is administered through the intramuscular route. The initial recommended dose is 10 mg to 20 mg 4 times a day. It should be administered for 1-2 days only if the patient is not able to take oral medications.

You must take Bentyl with a full glass of water. Don’t use a regular spoon for measurement if you are taking Bentyl in the liquid form. You should use only a dose-measuring cup or spoon. Don’t exceed the prescribed dosage amount.
