Description of Emcyt

Emcyt is a cancer drug that works by stopping/slowing the growth cancerous cells. The generic name of this drug is Estramustine. It is meant for oral administration. You can buy Emcyt in the form of oral capsules (Emcyt 140 mg). The nonmedical ingredients used in Emcyt are: silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, talc, and sodium lauryl sulfate.

Indications & Dosage of Emcyt

Emcyt is indicated for the treatment of progressive prostate cancer. As this drug is a prescription drug, you need a doctor’s prescription to buy Emcyt.

The recommended daily Emcyt dosage is 14 mg/kg, administered in divided doses. You should take your dosages 60 minutes before or 120 minutes after meals. You should swallow the oral capsule whole with water. Do not take calcium-rich foods, milk products, or milk along with Emcyt capsules.

You should not alter your dosage on your own as this may reduce the efficacy of the drug and/or increase your risk to certain side effects.

Your doctor may ask you to take certain tests during treatment to establish the effectiveness of the treatment. You must ensure that you take all prescribed tests on time.
