Description of Keflex

The generic name of Keflex is Cephalexin. It belongs to a family of drugs known as antibiotics. Keflex is administered orally. It is a prescription medication, so you should buy Keflex online only if it is recommended in the treatment by your doctor. You can buy Keflex in the form of oral capsules (250mg, 333mg, 500mg and 750 mg), tablets (250mg and 500mg) and powder for suspension (125mg/5mL and 250mg/5ml).

Keflex is prescribed by doctors for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria that are susceptible to its effects. The common infections that are treated are tonsillitis, throat larynx (laryngitis), bronchi (bronchitis) and pneumonia. Keflex is also used for treating urinary tract, skin, and bone infections.

The adult dosage ranges from 1-4gms daily in divided doses. The usual adult dose is 250 mg every 6 hours. For the following infections, a dosage of 500 mg may be administered every 12 hours: streptococcal pharyngitis, skin infections, and cystitis in adults and children who are more than 15 years old.

In children, the dose is also based on weight. The usual recommended daily dosage for children ranges from 25-50mg/kg in divided doses.
