Description of Ketek
Ketek is used to treat bacterial infections of the sinus and lungs. It contains telithromycin, a semi-synthetic antibacterial in the ketolide class. The generic name of the drug is Telithromycin.
You must buy Ketek only as per the directions of your doctor. The tablet must not be chewed, crushed or broken. Swallow it whole with a full glass of water. You may take the medicine with or without food. Take the medicine at the same time every day to get the best results.
Indications & Dosage of Ketek
Ketek helps the body fight bacteria that cause infection. It is supplied in the form of a light orange, film-coated oval shaped tablet.
The recommended dosage of Ketek is 200 mg two times a day (total dosage 400 mg). The tablet must be taken for 7-10 days. You will find improvement in the symptoms after taking the drug for a few days. Complete the full course of the medicine to get the best results. Don’t start, stop or change the medication without asking your doctor. You must take Ketek on time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, avoid the skipped dose. Don’t take an overdose of the drug. Seek emergency medical attention in case of overdose. Ketek may impair your thinking process and also results in blurred vision. Don’t drive or do tasks that need constant attention after administering the drug.
You must store Ketek at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius away from direct light, heat and moisture. Keep the drug away from the reach of children and pets.

Less serious side effects of Ketek are:

Serious side effects of Ketek are:
- Severe dizziness, drowsiness and fainting
