Description of Lamictal

p>Lamictal is a prescription drug that belongs to the anticonvulsant group of medications. Lamotrigine, the active ingredient present in Lamictal, controls sodium levels in the brain to stabilise seizure inducing electrical activities. It also reduces the release of glutamate, a neurotransmitter responsible for causing epileptic fits by heightening communication between nerves.

Patients asked to buy Lamictal will find it available in the following forms :

  • 25mg, 100mg, 150mg and 200mg Lamictal tablets ;
  • 2mg, 5mg and 25mg Lamictal chewable dispersible tablets;

The generic name of Lamictal is Lamotrigine.
