Description of Limbrel

Limbrel has Flavocoxid as its active ingredient, and it belongs to the class of bioflavonoids. These are usually found in rinds of green citrus fruits, rose hips or in black currants, and are commonly used for enhancing actions of vitamin C, for supporting circulation of blood and for treating viruses, allergies, arthritis and any other inflammatory conditions. You can buy Limbrel in the form of oral capsules. Other ingredients present in the capsules include microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, gelatin and maltodextrin NF. The capsules are free from glucose, fructose, gluten, lactose, sucrose and flavors, and are available in 250 and 500mg strengths.

Indications & Dosage of Limbrel

Limbrel is indicated for the management of osteoarthritis. It is a medicinal food product made from substances of certain plant sources termed as flavans and flavonoids. The drug works by reducing pain, swelling and inflammation caused by the condition.

Your doctor will recommend you to take Limbrel 500 to 1000mg per day, divided into two doses during the day. This means that you will need to take one Limbrel 250mg or 500mg capsule two times a day, at a gap of around 12 hours.

You can take the capsules with or without food. Try to take the capsules at around the same time each day.

Side Effects & Interactions of Limbrel

Gas, diarrhea or nausea can commonly occur after taking Limbrel capsules, especially during the first few days of starting treatment. These are temporary side effects of the drug and are supposed to subside on their own as your body adjusts to it. However, inform your doctor at once if any of these persist or worsen or if you develop yellowing of the eyes or skin. This can be a sign of jaundice of a serious liver disease, and needs to be treated as soon as possible.

Some patients with hypersensitivity may also develop an allergic reaction after taking the capsules. Symptoms of such a reaction include hives, facial swelling, difficulty breathing or severe dizziness. Stop taking the capsules if you develop any of these symptoms. Seek medical attention if any of these persist even after discontinuing the drug.

Before you buy Limbrel, inform your doctor if you are taking any other medicines that affect your bowel movements, including antacids or laxatives. Apart from these, inform him or her about all the prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines you are using at present, including diet supplements and herbal preparations.

Warnings & Precautions of Limbrel

Inform your doctor beforehand if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients of Limbrel, or if you have a stomach ulcer. In addition to this, inform him or her about all the other medical conditions you are suffering from.

Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should use this drug only after consulting their doctor, as it is not yet known whether it is safe for such women and their children or not.

If gas or stomach upset occurs, do not take any drugs without consulting with your doctor. These are mild side effects of Limbrel and subside on their own as your body adjusts to it. However, your doctor may advise you to take other medicines to relive the side effects, in case they are intolerable.
