Livostin Opthalmic Suspension is used to treat red, itchy, or watery eyes due to allergy. This drug is classified as an antihistamine and its generic name is Levocabastine. Like other antihistamines, Livostin Opthalmic Suspension works by blocking the action of histamine. Histamine is a naturally occurring chemical and is responsible for occurrence of allergy symptoms.
The drug is available in the strength Livostin Opthalmic Suspension 0.05%. In addition to Levocabastine, the drug also contains the following ingredients: propylene glycol, polysorbate 80, benzalkonium chloride, monobasic sodium phosphate, disodium edetate, dibasic sodium phosphate, purified water, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
Side effects of Livostin Opthalmic Suspension
