Description of Lopressor

Lopressor is used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain, tremors, migraine headache, abnormal rhythms of the heart, heart pain, and certain neurological disorders. The generic name of the drug is Metoprolol Tartrate.

The dosage for angina is 100-400 mg per day. The dosage for acute myocardial infarction is 5 mg injections two times a day. The tablets must be taken before meals and at bedtime.
