Description of Lustra

Lustra is used to decrease the formation of melanin in the skin. It is also used to lighten the areas of the skin that have been darkened due to melasma, cholasma, age spots and freckles.

The ingredients present in Lustra are Hydroquinone, glyceryl stearate, purified water, phenyl trimethicone, glycerin, cetyl alcohol, cyclopentasiloxane, linoleic acid, glycolic acid, cetearyl alcohol ceteareth, triethanolamine, hydrogenated lecithin, phenoxyethanol magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, dimethiconol, benzyl alcohol, sodium, citrate, tocopheryl acetate, sodium metabisulphate, butylated hydroxytoluene, vitamin E, carbomer, and fragrance.

Indications & Dosage of Lustra

You can buy Lustra to treat dischromia and discoloration induced by ultraviolet rays, caused due to the usage of oral contraceptives, pregnancy, hormonal changes and its therapy, and/or skin trauma. The medicine should be stored at 15°C to 25°C, away from moisture and direct sunlight. It is available in the form of 56.8 gram tubes.

Lustra should be applied on the affected areas twice daily, preferably once in the morning and once before bedtime. However, the physician’s recommended dosage should be followed. Wash your hands before and after you apply this medication. Apply just enough to cover the affected region of the skin and avoid spreading it on to the unaffected areas. After applying, rub the medication gently over the area.

It is recommended to avoid exposure to the sun during and after the use of Lustra. Protective clothing on the treated areas and/or sunscreen agents should be used.

Side Effects & Interactions of Lustra

It is not recommended to buy Lustra if you have a history of allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to hydroquinone or any of the other ingredients present in it.

Remember not to use Lustra on open wounds, and wind burned, dry, chapped, or sunburnt skin. Wait for the condition to subside before applying it. Avoid getting the medication into your eyes or mouth. If it does enter these areas, rinse them thoroughly with water. While using Lustra, avoid using any other products that may cause skin irritation like skin products with ingredients such as alcohol, spices, astringents or lime.

Lustra is known to cause :

  1. Swelling of the face, lips, tongue and/or throat, difficulty breathing, hives
  2. Severe stinging and/or severe burning sensation on the skin after applying Lustra.

Seek medical help immediately if you experience any of these adverse effects.

Some of the less severe side effects are mild stinging, mild burning, itching, or redness of the skin where the medication has been applied.

Warnings & Precautions of Lustra

It should be remembered that the hydroquinone present in Lustra may have a permanent depigmenting effect on certain areas of the skin, if not used as directed. Also, if you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients in the product, it should not be used. It is advisable to test your skin’s sensitivity to Lustra by applying it on a small patch of unbroken skin and checking it, after twenty four hours, for any signs of itching, vesicle formations, or excessive inflation. If you have any of these symptoms, further treatment should be avoided. However, mild redness of the area should not be a contradiction. On very rare occasions, due to prolonged usage, a blue-black coloration of the patch of skin on which Lustra has been applied may surface. In such a case, discontinue usage immediately.
