Description of Maxalt
Maxalt belongs to the class of triptans, and its generic name is Rizatriptan Benzoate. You can buy Maxalt in the form of oral tablets.
Indications & Dosage of Maxalt
Maxalt is an oral medication used for treating migraines. It helps in relieving symptoms of migraines, including headache, vomiting, nausea, and sensitivity to sound or light. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the patient’s brain and reducing the substances that are responsible for triggering migraine symptoms. You must remember that Maxalt can only relieve migraine symptoms, but it cannot prevent migraine attacks in the future or reduce their frequency or intensity.
A single dose of Maxalt 5mg to 10mg is enough for acute treatment of a migraine attack. You will have to take only one tablet whenever a migraine attack gets triggered. If the desired effects are not achieved, you can repeat the dose at a gap of at least 2 hours. The maximum dosage you can receive in a day is Maxalt 30mg.
The correct way of taking the oral dissolving tablet is to place it on your tongue and let it dissolve. Do not chew the tablet while it is dissolving. If required, you can drink water to swallow the dissolved tablet.
