Description of Navane

Navane is a medication with the generic name Thiothixene. It belongs to a group of medicines known as antipsychotic agents. Navane is available in the form of a capsule and a concentrate for intramuscular injection. Navane concentrate needs to be reconstituted with sterile water to prepare the solution for injection. The drug is a prescription medication; you need to consult your doctor before you buy Navane online.

Indications & Dosage of Navane

Navane is indicated in the treatment of schizophrenia. The medication is only intended to control symptoms of schizophrenia and not cure the disease.

Thiothixene, the active ingredient in the medication, works to lessen or block the action of dopamine receptors in the brain. Schizophrenia patients are known to have elevated levels of Dopamine.

Your doctor will give you specific instructions regarding the dosage. The dosage of Navane depends on the chronicity and severity of the condition. You can take Navane tablets with or without food. The treatment is started with a small dose. The dosage is increased gradually to the optimal effective level based on the patient’s response to therapy.

Side Effects & Interactions of Navane

Like all other drugs, Navane may also cause mild to severe side effects in some patients. However, not all people who use this medication experience side effects. As a matter of fact, many people using Navane do not complain about any side effects.

The mild side effects of Navane treatment include: diarrhea, tired feeling, headache, nasal congestion, nausea, constipation, sleeplessness, vomiting, changes in appetite, dizziness, dry mouth, lightheadedness, or drowsiness. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects become bothersome.

Navane may also trigger severe side effects such as inability to move the eyes, seizures, involuntary movements of the tongue, chest pain, painful or prolonged erection, swelling of the legs or arms, tremors of the hands, fainting, changes in menstrual period, muscle spasms of the neck, face, restlessness, or stomach pain. This is not a complete list of side effects. To know more about the side effects caused by Navane, refer to the information leaflet provided with it. Stop using the medication and consult your doctor if you experience severe side effect after taking a dose of Navane.

Navane may potentially interact with other medicines you are using and cause side effects. It may interact with drugs such as Carbamazepine, Tramadol, antihistamines, opiates, anticholinergics, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants or other hepatic microsomal enzyme inducing agents. This is not a complete list of drugs that may interact with Navane.

Before you buy Navane, tell the doctor about every drug you are using which includes prescription drugs, over the counter medications, and herbal supplements.

Warnings & Precautions of Navane

You should not use Navane if you are hypersensitive to any ingredient in it. It may not be the right drug for people with certain medical problems such as severe drowsiness, bone marrow problems or blood disorders. Before starting the treatment tell the doctor your medical history of brain tumor, breast cancer, vision or eye problems, dementia, lupus, intestinal blockage, or Alzheimer’s disease.

Pregnant women, nursing mothers or women planning to get pregnant should buy Navane only after learning about the benefits and risks of using the drug from their doctor.
