Description of Nexavar
The generic name of the drug is Sorafenib. It belongs to a family of medicines known as protein kinase inhibitors. Nexavar is available in the form of an oral tablet. The drug is a prescription medication, so you need to consult your doctor before you buy Nexavar online.
Indications & Dosage of Nexavar
Nexavar is indicated in treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (a type of kidney cancer) and hepatocellular carcinoma (a type of liver cancer). The drug blocks action of specific enzyme (protein kinase) which is found in cancer cells. This action of the drug reduces the growth of cancer cells.
Your doctor will give specific instructions regarding the dosage. The recommended dose of Nexavar is two Nexavar 200mg tablets, 2 times daily without food. If patient experience adverse reactions, then doctor may reduce the dose to two Nexavar 200mg tablets once daily or every other day.
Take the medication with a glass of water at least one hour prior to a meal or 2 hours after a meal. Swallow the tablet whole, do not chew or crush it.
Side Effects & Interactions of Nexavar
Every medicine has side effects. Nexavar may cause mild to severe side effects in some people. Less severe side effects associated with Nexavar: diarrhea, loss of appetite, thinning hair, tired feeling, vomiting, itchy skin, weight loss, nausea, burning pain/tingly feeling/numbness in your feet and hands, peeling of the skin, or stomach pain. These side effects wane with time as your body gets used to the medication. If any of these side effects become bothersome or stay for long time then consult your doctor.
Severe side effects associated with Nexavar: sudden weakness or numbness, mouth sores, coughing up blood, bloody/black/tarry stools, severe pain in the soles of your feet or palms of your hands, vomit that appears like coffee grounds, blisters, rash, shortness of breath, nausea, chest pain, wheezing, rapid weight gain, dry cough, sweating, increased appetite or sleeping problem. Nexavar may potentially interact with other medicines you are using and cause side effects. It may interact with medicines such as Rifabutin, certain HIV medications, St. John's wort, Neomycin, Montelukast, barbiturates, antidepressants, blood pressure or heart medications, Voriconazole, Selegiline, or Warfarin. This is not a complete list of medicines that may interact with Nexavar.
