Procardia XL is referred to as dihydropyridine CCB (calcium channel blocker). It is an anti-anginal drug. It is used for the treatment of vasospastic angina and chronic-stable angina (which is also called classical effort-associated angina). Besides this, the generic drug is also used for treating hypertension. The drug acts by inhibiting the influx of the calcium ions inside the vascular and myocardial membrane pores.
