Description of Soriatane

Soraitane is a drug that is derivative of Vitamin A and it is used in the treatment of severe resistant psoriasis in adults. However, the mechanism of action of this drug is not yet known. Psoriasis is a kind of skin disease that causes scaliness, inflamed red patches and thickness of the skin. This drug is a form of retinoic acid, more commonly known as retinoids that are laboratory made. The generic name of Soraitane is Acitretin. It is also referred to as Generic Acitretin, Acetec or Aceret. This drug creates a moisturizing effect that soothes the chapped skin.

Each capsule of Soraitane is composed of an active pharmaceutical ingredient that is known as Acitretin and other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, maltodextrin, gelatin, sodium ascorbate and black monogramming.

Generally, Vitamin A is required to treat psoriasis. However, Vitamin A is very toxic and causes liver damage if taken regularly. To reduce the harmful effect of Vitamin A, Acitretin is used in this drug as it is not toxic and soothes the skin effectively.
