Description of Namenda

The generic name of the drug is Memantine Hydrochloride. It belongs to a family of medicines known as NMDA receptor antagonist. Namenda is supplied in the form of a tablet and an oral solution. The drug is a prescription medication which means you should consult your doctor before you buy Namenda online.

Indications & Dosage of Namenda

Namenda is indicated in the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. It works by binding to NDMA receptors and stops excessive excitation caused by glutamate which is considered to be one of the causes of Alzheimer symptoms.

Less serious side effects associated with Namenda: dizziness, fast heart rate, nausea, anxiety, and aggression, swelling in your feet or hands, tired feeling, diarrhea, weight loss, joint pain, loss of appetite, vomiting, easy bleeding or bruising, fast heart rate, swelling around your eyes, skin rash, or urinating more than usual. These side effects wane with time as your body gets used to the medication. However, if they become bothersome or stay for long time then you need to consult your doctor.

Serious side effects associated with the medication: chest tightness, lack of coordination, hallucinations, cough, breathing problem, increased blood pressure, seizure, sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body, fast heart rate, pale skin, and unusual weakness, fainting or easy bleeding or bruising. Stop the medication and seek medical attention immediately if you experience or notice any severe side effects after taking a dose of Namenda.

Namenda may potentially interact with other medicines you are using and cause side effects. It may interact with medications such as Cimetidine, Quinidine, Nicotine, cough or cold medications containing Dextromethorphan, Ranitidine, and some diuretics, medications used to treat glaucoma or oral diabetes medications containing Metformin.
