Description of Oxytrol

Oxytrol is a transdermal skin patch which is used to reduce and control muscle spasms that occur in the bladder and the urinary tract. People generally buy Oxytrol for the treatment of symptoms associated with overactive bladder. Some of the symptoms are frequent urination, heightened night time urination and incontinence. The generic name of Oxytrol is called oxybutynin.

Indications & Dosage of Oxytrol

As mentioned before, Oxytrol is indicated for treating certain symptoms of overactive bladder. It may also be used for other purposes.

The dosage of Oxytrol should be based strictly on the amounts prescribed by the doctor; altering the prescribed amounts may lead to severe health issues. One should carefully read the instructions mentioned on the package before using Oxytrol.

The sealed pouch containing the transdermal patch is to be opened first, followed by the removal of the protective liner. The patch is to be applied on any area of the hip, stomach or buttock. There should be firm application of the patch and it should be worn for at least 3 days. The patch should be changed twice every week but should not be applied on the same area for two consecutive times.
