Description of Veramyst Nasal Spray
Veramyst is a nasal spray used to treat seasonal allergic conditions in the nose. The generic name of this drug is Fluticasone Furoate.
You must buy Veramyst Nasal Spray only as per the prescription of the doctor. The drug is sprayed directly into the nostril once a day.
Veramyst is used to treat nasal problems such as sneezing, runny nose, and congestion in adults and children that are caused due to seasonal allergies. The spray contains fluticasone that acts as hormone naturally produced by the adrenal glands. Once administered, the medication goes into the lining of the nose without affecting the rest of the body. The exact mechanism and action of fluticasone is still unknown.
In most cases, two sprays of Veramyst are given in each nostril once a day or one spray in each nostril two times a day.
The normal dosage of Veramyst is 110 mcg for adults and adolescents above 12 years (two sprays in each nostril) and 55 mcg for children between the age of 2-11 years (one spray in each nostril). An overdose of the drug will not produce any life-threatening side effects, but it is advisable not to take an overdose.
You must shake the bottle well before use. Before using the drug for the first time, spray it into the air at least six times away from your face. Throw the bottle after using 120 sprays even if there is still some medicine left in it. If you are not using the spray for 30 days after opening the seal or the cap is left open for five days or more, dispose the bottle.
Veramyst must be kept at room temperature away from heat and moisture. Make sure that the bottle is kept upright.
