Description of Prolia

The generic name of Prolia is Denosumab. It belongs to a group of medicines known as monoclonal antibodies. Prolia is supplied in the form of a prefilled syringe or single-use vial for injection. It is to be injected subcutaneously. Each mL of Prolia SubQ injection contains 60mg Denosumab. The drug is a prescription medication, which means you need to consult your doctor before you buy Prolia online.

Indications & Dosage of Prolia

Prolia is indicated in the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who have a high risk of fractures. The medication is specifically prescribed in the treatment when a patient cannot tolerate or does not respond well to other osteoporosis medicines.

Prolia is also used for increasing the bone mass among patients diagnosed with certain forms of cancer that weaken bones. It is specifically used by non-metastatic prostate cancer patients who are receiving androgen deprivation therapy, and in the treatment of breast cancer in women who are undergoing adjuvant aromatase inhibitor therapy.

Denosumab blocks a protein that regulates the activity of certain cells that cause bone loss. By influencing the action of osteoclasts, the drug helps curb bone breakdown.

You will receive a 60mg dose of Denosumab once every 6 months during treatment. The medication is injected subcutaneously in the abdomen, upper thigh or upper arm region. You will be required to take around 1000mg calcium and at least 400 IU vitamins daily during Prolia treatment. The Prolia injection is administered by a trained medical professional or by a doctor in a clinic or hospital setting.
