Description of Actoplus Met

Actoplus Met is a drug used by Type 2 diabetes patients who have problems using regular insulin injections. It is a combination of metformin and pioglitazone, which are both oral diabetes medications. The medication is used by diabetes patients to monitor and keep their blood sugar levels in check. The generic name of Actoplus Met is metformin and pioglitazone.

Indications & Dosage of Actoplus Met

Actoplus Met is generally indicated for Type 2 diabetes patients to keep their blood sugar levels in check. It is not meant for Type 1 diabetes patients or Type 2 diabetes patients who use insulin injections.

Actoplus Met is available in four varying strengths in the form of tablets- Actoplus Met 500/15mg, Actoplus Met 850/15mg, Actoplus Met XR 1000/15mg and Actoplus Met XR 1000/30mg. XR stands for extended release.

The drug should be administered on the basis of the doctor’s prescription. Taking a higher or smaller dose than prescribed may lead to severe health issues. The drug is to be taken with meals.
