Description of Climara Pro
Climara Pro belongs to a class of drugs known as hormone replacement medications. Climara Pro contains estradiol, a form of estrogen which is naturally occurring in premenopausal women. It also contains levonorgestrel, a form of progestin. Estradiol in Climara Pro helps in suppressing certain menopausal symptoms, which mainly affect bone strength and may lead to osteoporosis. Levonorgestrel helps in decreasing the risk of cancer which is caused by the use of estrogen without progestin. The generic name of Climara Pro is estradiol/levonorgestrel.
Climara Pro is available in the form of a skin patch, and it is a prescription medication.
Indications & Dosage of Climara Pro
Climara Pro is generally indicated for the treatment of menopausal symptoms like night sweats or hot flashes, and also for the prevention of osteoporosis which may be experienced by postmenopausal women.
The doctor’s directions should be carefully followed by patients using the Climara Pro patch. Altering dosage patterns may adversely affect health. The skin patch should be used on a weekly basis. The application site should be in the lower abdominal region. The site should be properly cleaned and dried before Climara Pro is applied. It is advisable not to apply the patch in and around the waistline as the patch tends to rub against clothes and become loose. After the patch is removed, the little remaining adhesive can be removed with the help of body oil or a lotion.
Once removed, the patch should be properly disposed. Climara Pro patches should be stored in conditions as mentioned on the packaging label.
