Description of Moduret

Moduret is a combination of two drugs, amiloride hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide. Both the active ingredients present in this drug are diuretics (water pills). While amiloride hydrochloride is listed as a potassium-sparring diuretic, hydrochlorothiazide is a potent thiazide diuretic. The generic name of Moduret is Amiloride, Hydrochlorothiazide.

Moduret is available in two strengths, Moduret 2.5-25 mg (2.5 mg of amiloride hydrochloride and 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide) and Moduret 5-50 mg (5 mg of amiloride hydrochloride and 50 mg of hydrochlorothiazide). This drug is meant for oral administration only.

Moduret is a prescription drug. This means that you need a doctor’s prescription to buy Moduret.

Indications & Dosage of Moduret

Moduret is indicated for the treatment of:

Diuretics increase the amount of urine produced. Taking Moduret in the evening or night may affect your sleep as you may need to get up in the night to urinate. That is why patients are recommended to take their Moduret dosage in the morning.
