Description of Tribenzor
Tribenzor is a combination drug containing olmesartan medoxomil, amlodipine and hydrochlorothiazide in fixed ratios. It is generically known as olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide.
Doctors generally instruct patients to buy Tribenzor only if they have previously been treated for hypertension with other drugs to no avail. This drug is available in the form of oral tablets in the following strengths: 20/5/12.5mg, 40/5/12.5mg, 40/15/25mg, 40/10/12.5mg and 40/10/25mg.
Olmesartan medoxomil belongs to the class of angiotensin II receptor-antagonists and acts by preventing vasoconstriction. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which prevents fluid retention, and amlodipine belongs to the group of medications known as calcium channel blockers and works by relaxing the blood vessels and easing blood flow.
Besides the three main active drugs, each Tribenzor tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: pregelatinized starch, croscarmellose sodium, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol, talc and different oxides of iron.

The tablets can be taken with or without food, but should be swallowed whole at approximately the same time each day.
It is essential for patients to have their blood pressure checked regularly. The medication should not be stopped even if symptoms of high blood pressure disappear or results show normal blood pressure readings.
